For The Love Of Fashion!!! My name is Tressa M. Govan and I'm the Owner of Tressa's Gullah Girl Boutique which is located in the oldest commercial building on Hilton Head Island. I have always had a love for fashion and art! My business's Mission Statement is "To provide trendy yet affordable clothing and accessories to women of all ages." As a little girl, I was torn between a variety of hobbies: sewing clothes and purses, drawing, painting, and writing poetry-but my love for fashion and the arts stuck with me through my 34 years of life. I can remember writing in a journal I used to keep how much I wanted to someday open my own boutique and make my parents proud. I believe I was nine years old when I wrote that entry, my mom actually stumbled across it recently and it brought back so many memories. I am beyond blessed to say that opening up my own boutique is one childhood dream that came true! Entrepreneurship has always surrounded me and that is one of the main reasons why Tressa's Glitz and Glam Boutique was born. A little background to the current name- (Tressa's Gullah Girl Boutique)-my parents wanted me to name it that, but I was totally against it. I guess I had to see for myself and ended up changing the name the summer of last year (I know, I know parents are always right). One compliment I always get from people who pass by in the heavy traffic of Hilton Head is how cute the outfits I put in my window are. That is one way I advertise my store, and sometimes those same people eventually stop by! I have been a fashion stylist to many people. Upon meeting me or walking into my boutique everyone can tell I have a true love and passion for fashion, and I plan to continue to dress the Island and beyond one person at a time!
